Ok guys, so much has been happening around here that I have not had time to properly share about this really wonderful thing that has happened this year. It goes something like this Hamilton-Hong Kong-Hackney Wick-Hamilton !! Ha Ha… please read on, as its truly a case of the best things happening when you are out of your comfort zone and in creative flow.

In March Aida Wilde from Hackney Wick in London and myself, were invited to be a part of the Hong Kong Walls festival and were randomly assigned a Hotel room to share. It was a bit like being back on school camp. She did large paste ups and taught workshops and I painted a large scale art work on Queens Road. We got along well and had a lot of fun.

Print Club London has this statement about Aida on their website; Aida Wilde is an Iranian born, London based printmaker/visual artist and educator. Wilde’s pre-dominantly, screen printed installations and social commentary posters have been featured on city streets around the world and are responsive works on gentrification, education & equality.

What resulted was a fast firm friendship and my inclusion in the 2019 Hackney WickED Arts festival back in London, from which I have just returned. Aida and I thought a collaboration while I was there would be fun, combining her print skills and a fav song I sung during our time in Hong Kong (on days when we were working hard). “If your happy and you know it clap your hands”.  This song is annoying in the best possible way, as it gets stuck in your head!

We decided to do a G-rated version for me, cos the joke is that I am a bit that way. And a M rated version for her (if you google her you will know why. She tells it as it is). You can shop the result here .

This print we did in the spirit of camaraderie, artistic collaboration, in celebration of our differences and our commonalities, and as a reminder that no matter the circumstances or situation, happiness is largely just a choice.

If you have this print on your wall we want you to take a deep breath, clap your hands and be HAPPY.

They are super limited edition, well priced as Aida is well known in the UK, so if you want one get in quick! They are all hand pulled in her Hackney Wick studio (check my London insta stories) and printed on the most beautiful paper made from recycled coffee cups. Be sure to tag us wherever you hang them.

And Happy days to all of you….
