I recently returned from spending most of the month of September in France, at the picture perfect Chateau Orquevaux in the Champagne Ardenne region. I had a studio in the old stables where I tacked up linen to the walls and created new paintings for a solo exhibition penciled in for May 2024 at Michael Reid Northern Beaches in Sydney. Please feel free to add yourself to my mailing list here if you would like to receive an invitation.
During my time in France I also stayed at the Chateau Des Deux Amants (Castle of Two Lovers) where I have been commissioned to install a sculpture in 2024. More to come on this! I also spent a few days in Paris and met with friends at Art Basel and packed as much as I could in. It was a wonderfully expansive trip for my eyes and a rest from the mental load of the grief and upsets of the last few years. I am back in Australia working hard and feeling focused and refreshed.
A huge thanks as always to everyone who supports my practice. I would not exist without you all. One of the works from the residency: scroll to the end of this post, I am putting into an upcoming group show curated by Harley Manifold. If you are interested in this piece please get in touch. It is a strong work and I think it will go quickly.
Also I post the majority of my day to day art life content on instagram. I made a reel about my experience and overlaid it with poem I wrote. As well as painting I have been editing a book of the many things I have written over the last decade. I think you will relate. You can watch here.
With warmth always…
