My exhibition at Michael Reid Northern Beaches opened this weekend and is running until May 24. You can view the work here.

A big thanks to everyone who came along and who supports my practice. This body of work feels deeply significant and embodies all the things that I feel I lack the words for, it is the poetry buried in the geometry.

Life feels so fast and it is art that can slow us down, it can make us contemplate our lives in a new way and can help us gain new perspectives. If you can stand in front of my paintings in person they will draw you in and transport you to the world of the work, it is very different from only viewing them online. To collect the paintings and to live with them is to have them become part of your daily life and your aesthetic memories. That your visual narrative will expand to include the paintings. My experience is of growing up with my grandmothers art and these becoming familiar to me. They exist in my childhood memories. Paintings also are able to be handed down in generations, unlike many other things we live with, they become heirlooms and time keepers.

This side of being an artist is never lost on me, that my art goes on to have a life apart from me. That it is a privilege that is my work laying witness to the personal, the intimate and the intricate parts of other people’s lives. For my worlds to become part of other worlds. This feels very significant to me.

Much to contemplate always..

If you are interested in investing in a painting feel free to message me here or get in touch with the gallery.
