Well I have had lots of exciting things happening for me art wise lately and it has been a challenge for me to decide what I can and can’t make happen with a small baby in tow. I have figured out if I keep my expectations low, while at the same time attempting as much as I can, I can kind of organically work and mother at the same time. It just means I am always thinking ahead and I have to be even more organised than usual. I do feel more energetic when I am working and that flows into all the other areas of my life, which is a very good thing!
A couple of weeks ago I joined in with several other artists to paint on a project in the Victorian city of Warnambool. It was awesome to be able to learn some skills from some big names in street art, Bonsai, Ghostpatrol, Twoone and June, (pictured below).
I must admit I will need a lot more practise to be proficient with a spray can, it is so different to painting with a brush, but it was great to experiment with a different medium and to get some more practise working on a large scale.
You can check out the completed mural in it’s entirety at the Mortlake Rd underpass (just near the big roundabout) in Warnambool. Big thanks to Gareth Colliton from the Warnambool Art Gallery for all his work getting the project underway.
I am looking forward to doing more mural projects, with one starting tomorrow (sunday the 8th Feb) in the Roxburgh Cafe laneway, you can like The Roxburgh on instagram here or on Facebook here, if you would like to see some action shots!
Thank you for reading and sharing my stuff…
I have some paintings for sale here
