ELLE MEN Hong Kong Dream editorial feature

I had the pleasure of being featured in the current edition of @ellemenhk , sharing how the world of my DREAMS has influenced both my arts practice and my daily life .. below is an excerpt from the full interview;

“I see dreams as conversations between the conscious and subconscious mind, a space where symbolic truth can emerge via form, narrative and metaphor. I am also often creatingt there first, I will see fully formed paintings or find the answers to things I am struggling with. I’ve long been drawn to creating work that mirrors my dream world in this way, to invite the viewer into this surreal imaginative space, much of it though intimate, feels universal and I like to think it helps others pay attention to their own inner world more closely. That the work engages the imagination, invites wonder and curiosity. Dreams can help you be your own guide and to be the master of your own fate and destiny”.

The published painting was one of a series of four pieces that were collected together ( thanks @jeffgilling ), and will be shown in an exhibition later this year.

It has been a strange year here for me, and I am currently exploring stone as a medium, it is bringing me much joy - more to come on this soon. Have added a photo below of a work in progress!

I also went to the Cartier opening at the NGV this week with my dear friend Kirsten . So life is full of contrast in every way.
