COMMISSIONing

Artwork

Jasmine has had a number of high profile clients, both seasoned collectors and those new to the art world, a number have since returned to commission further works. Jasmine uses the highest quality linens and paint, working with a framer who has decades of industry experience. Bringing you artwork that will stand the test of time. Delivery and custom installs can also be arranged and assisted with, depending on your location.

The commission process is very straightforward. It starts with simple sketches and there is very little guessing as to what the finished work will look like. This link shows a recent commission process. There is high level of transparency and the intention is that you will have a piece that you love for many years to come.

Commissions can also be booked in and paid for over a period of time. This is particularly helpful if you have a particular budget you are working with, or you are building or designing a new home or commercial space. Art is often best factored in at the beginning of this process, as it provides a strong foundation for other elements yet to be decided upon. In terms of other furnishings your chosen art will generally outlive many other pieces and so it is an important consideration.

Jasmine works from a large studio in an idyllic location in rural Australia, however a considerable proportion of her collectors are international. Paintings on linen are easily taken off the frame and rolled for shipping, this can be arranged to go directly to an industry vetted framer closest to your location. This is a very reliable way of making the process of commissioning and collecting run smoothly across long distances.

Jasmine is well travelled and has been a practicing artist for almost 30 years, as a result she has many valuable contacts in the art industry, including gallerists, curators, architects and interior designers. She is able to lean into these relationships for support for larger and more complex projects. Jasmine is also able to recommend and engage with other industry professionals you may already be working with.

Collecting art via the commission process suits many people, as there is room for the consideration of one’s individual tastes and for personal narrative to be considered and woven into the finished piece. It is a way to collect a high quality long term investment that adds to any space, whether it be a commercial or personal interior or to add diversity to your art portfolio.

While this has been written primarily to provide more insight into the process of commissioning paintings, Jasmine has also worked with collectors on a number of large sculptural and installation works, (including this DREAM GAZEBO, now in a private collection at a Chateau in Normandy, France) and numerous mural projects, so if you have ideas that extend off the canvas we would love to hear about them and see what might be possible to bring them to life.

If you are new to collecting art and still considering where to start, here is great article from RISE Art, a global platform Jasmine is represented by. We also thought we should look at what the current data is showing about the art world, the recent ART BASEL/UBS Survey stating;

“Industry trends show a meaningful shift toward more personalized collecting: many new and established collectors now choose to buy directly from artists — including through studio visits, social media, and commissioned works — because they value authentic connection and transparency in their art experience.”

If you have been inspired to consider a commission or would like to discuss a more complex project, please feel free to send a message via WhatsApp (AUSTRALIA) 0429191907 or via the contact page HERE.

We look forward to hearing from you…
