A new book to collect, Port Fairy literacy weekend, the Scotch college exhibition and The sapling.

Hi everyone, just dropping a line to share a few things that might be of interest…

Thursday 10 September, Melbourne.

I have two paintings in the Scotch College Foundation Bi-Annual Art Show, which opens on Thursday the 10th (tomorrow night) and runs through until the 13th. Please consider yourself invited, you can find opening night tickets to the cocktail opening here. All Proceeds from the Art Show support the delivery of the Indigenous Program at Scotch College, which creates opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to thrive academically, culturally and personally. Every artwork sold contributes directly to that work.

The hardcover of Poetry Buried in Geometry has arrived.

The original paperback version was published in December 2025 and this is the new full colour hardcover edition. It is something of an art book, a coffee table book, a poetry book, and a collection of memories and musings. For anyone interested in my art practice, or who has been following along on my journey, it is the collectible edition of the book.They are available now via my studio shop here. They make a great gift and are an easy way to support my practice, share my work. Port Fairy Literary Weekend 11 - 13 September.

I am part of the Poetry Launch at the Port Fairy Literary Weekend, Sunday 13 September at 11.00am at iconic Blarney Books & Art on James Street. This is a Sunday morning poetry session celebrating the launch of Susan Bradley Smith's The Thing I Came For, with Ross Gillett, Rose Lucas and myself. I will have both the hardcover and the paperback with me. If you come along please say hi! Session tickets are here, they are free but bookings are essential for capacity.

The Sapling

The original Sapling painting is still available for purchase here, and launch of the Sapling edition of 25 has been well received, you can take a look at the prints here. In time I feel that this painting will become iconic, as it ties me directly to my time in the Western Districts and is a rare interpretation of landscape within my painting practice. I plan to exhibit this work in the retrospective planned for October 2027, so will ask in advance that it be able to be lent back! Instant providence.

I am also happy to organise framing at cost and have added that as an option here, quality framing adds value to the finished piece and also makes it hard to differentiate from the original work. In closing

For me 2026 continues to be a time of great personal and creative challenge and evolution. At the beginning of the year I committed to grounding deeply in the studio to experiment and push both the technical and material limitations of my practice. I have been doing this consistently and now have a body of work not yet publically shared, that is what I feel to be my most powerful to date. I have also completed several commissions that I fell in love with while painting them. I will add these below. I always welcome commissions as they are part of my cashflow strategy, so please don’t be shy about enquiring, art lasts a lifetime, you won’t regret money invested in it.

Over the last few days I have finalized exhibition details for the new work from this year, it is a prestigious international opportunity that I look forward to sharing with you all soon. I am being continually asked to expand and have to move through all that this triggers in me. I have also recently created a new large scale stone sculpture for a public commission, this demanded a lot from me and equally developed my skill sets.

Behind the scenes I am expending a huge amount of energy and sending much devotion to my work, being an artist can be something of a solitary pursuit in many ways, which means I appreciate hearing from you here. I would love to know how you first found my work and if you have collected a piece yet, and if so what inspired you to take the leap! And if you would like to, but have no idea where to start what would inspire you to do so?
